Farthingale provided my husband and me with exceptional clothes, that were lovingly made, not just "I want this" and they make it: no, they are people who think along with you, make suggestions and try to make the costume according to historical accuracy and personal taste and style. Reasonably priced, I am delighted with the quality, and the hats from Farthingale Historical hats are to die for. In short, a reenactors playpool. I'll go back there any time.

There really is no better place to buy reproduction Napoleonic costumes from. I have purchased many items of clothing and have never been disappointed. Some years ago I bought a replica of Admiral Nelson’s undress coat that he wore at Trafalgar and having seen the original on display at the NMM I can say it was virtually identical. The level of detail and expertise is incomparable. I would (and have many times) recommended Farthingale as the best place for all your historical clothing.

Had a naval captains frock made in August 2015, Chris did an excellent job, very friendly, gets back to emails fast, fair prices. Just know, it's just a few people working in his shop so expect orders to take some time. I live in the United States and I emailed them my measurements and the coat fit wonderfully. Would buy from these people again
